SOMETHING
ABOUT US
Name |
Those who are part of CHURCH OF CHRIST, see themselves as simply Christians and wish to be known as Christians. (Acts 11:26)
and wish to encourage others to be Christians. The emphasis is upon nondenominational and nonsectarian Christianity
(Acts 2:41, Hebrews 12:22-23).
Aims |
The aims are to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to make disciples, baptizing them into Christ, and teaching them to observe Christ’s teachings, as stated in the Great Commission of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28 18-20).
Our aim is to be essentially and intentionally a missionary outreach for Christ.
Beliefes |
The Bible is our only authority in matters of religious faith and practice and our sure and certain guide to Heaven. (2 Tim 3:16:17; Rev 22:18-18).
All that we believe and do must constantly be compared with the Scriptures through Bible Study(2 Tim 2:15).
It is our desire to speak where the Bible speaks (1 Cor. 4:6).
The New Testament is our ultimate constitution and guide for Church practice today(Hebrews. 9:15-17).
We wish to take no book but the Bible, no name but Christian and no creed but the Lord Jesus Christ(Rom 10:9; John 14:6).
Practices |
Bible baptism (Rom 6:1-4) and the Lord’s Supper (Matt. 26:26-30) are both Scriptural Ordinances to be taught and practiced.
Atonomy of the local church |
A local Church has Jesus Christ as it’s head and is responsible to Him
(Eph.1:22; James 4:12).
There is no denominational superstructure of which a local church is a part. We believe in free and independent congregations accountable to Jesus Christ as Lord (Matt. 28:18).
Church Organization |
A local Church is under the oversight of scriptural qualified elders who have pastoral responsibility for the members of the local church
(Acts 20:17-28; 1 Pet. 5:1-3).
The elders of a local church is assisted by scriptural qualified deacons.
(Acts 6:1-6; 1 Tim 3:8-13).
The elders of a local church are responsible for organizing the local church (1 Pet. 5:2).
The elders may appoint or dismiss paid or unpaid staff at their discretion. This may include evangelists and missionaries (Rom. 10:14).
The elders may delegate to church committees.
Membership |
Anyone who is a Christian according to the Bible is welcome to become part of this fellowship and it’s Christian work (Acts 2:22-47).
One of the elders of a local church can explain the implications and make any necessary arrangements (Hebr. 13:17).
